The new outdoor installation, 11 Minute Line, by Maya Lin, 2004, is situated parallel to the Park. This ”Earth Drawing“ is the first major installation by Maya Lin in Europe . Maya Lin is utilizing Wanås' rural setting with this large scale work in a field, grazed by cows. 11 Minute Line, which is approximately 7 feet high and 1 500 feet long, creates a winding line in the landscape. Maya Lin describes the shape by comparing it to the snake-like mound formations of an ancient settlement located just outside Athens, Ohio, or an English "haha". Principle works by Maya Lin, USA , include The Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Washington D.C., 1982, The Civil Rights Memorial, Montgomery, Alabama, 1989, The Women's Table, Yale University, 1993 and Langston Hughes Library, Children's Defence Fund, Clinton, Tennessee, 1999. In May 2003 Maya Lin received the Danish Finn Juhl Architecture Award based on her ability "to address complex historical and social questions" in her architecture, design and sculptures.

The Wanås Foundation is a non-profit foundation located in the south of Sweden on a medieval estate consisting of a castle, an organic farm and a sculpture park. Since 1987, the Park houses a growing permanent collection of works by international artists. The Barn and the Stable are used for temporary exhibitions. The focus is on sculpture and site-specific installations. All projects are new works made by the artists for The Wanås Foundation. The extensive educational program offers guided tours and other activities for children and adults. Works from 2002 on view include: Wanås Wall by Jenny Holzer with texts inscribed on the walls surrounding the Park; lignum by Ann Hamilton in the entire Barn and Vertigo, a subterranean room by Charlotte Gyllenhammar. Works in the Park include, among others: Hunting Chair by Marina Abramovic, 1998; Stigma by Gloria Friedmann, 1991; Two Different Anamorphic Surfaces by Dan Graham, 2000; Wanås by Per Kirkeby, 1994; I Am Thinking About Myself – Wanås 2003 by Marianne Lindberg De Geer, 2003; Impostor by Roxy Paine, 1999; Fideicommissum by Ann-Sofi Sidén, 2000; and A House for Edwin Denby by Robert Wilson, 2000.
